of Petite Riviere, passed away July 29, 2001 in the South Shore Regional
Hospital, Bridgewater, after a long struggle with cancer. Born in Doucetteville,
Digby County, she was a daughter of the late Jesse and Olive (Keddy)
Amero. She spent all her married life in Petite Riviere, was active
in her church and a member of the Ladies Guild. A much loved mother,
grandmother and wife who had a great love for children, a friend to
all who knew her. She is survived by her husband of 50 years Douglas;
daughter Mary Ann (Brian) of Crousetown; sons John (Catherine) of Petite
Riviere; Peter (Lise), Bush Island; sisters Helen (Arthur) MacMillan,
Port Hope, Ont.; Lorna, LaHave Manor, Dayspring; brothers, John (Carrol),
Angus, Ont.; Perley (Marilyn), Oshawa, Ont.; Grandsons, William and
Joshua; granddaughters, Jennifer, Emma, Rebecca, Leah and Olivia. She
was predeceased by a brother Murray, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.
A memorial service will be held 2pm Saturday in St Michael’s Anglican
Church, Petite Riviere, Rev Michael Hawkins officiating. Burial of ashes
will be in the Church Cemetery. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers,
memorials donations in her memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society,
St Michael’s Building Fund, Sacred Heart Cemetery, Doucetteville
or the charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction
of Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. There will be no visitation
in the funeral home by request.
