Myra Augusta Corkum

82, of Mount Pleasant, Lunenburg County, passed away on Sept. 9, 2001 in Fisherman’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. She was born in West Dublin on Sept. 30, 1918. She was a daughter of the late James and Jennie (Bushen) Veinot. She was a member of West Side United Church in Pentz; also an honorary life member of the Canadian Bible Society and a life member of the United Church Women. She was a Registered Nurse, a graduate of the Halifax Infirmary School of Nursing, class of 1942, and for many years practiced Nursing at the Halifax Infirmary and Dawson Memorial Hospital in Bridgewater. She leaves behind several nieces and nephews and was predeceased by husband Evard, brother Enos and sister Vida Manthorne. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Myra’s life will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 2nd, 2001, at 2 PM., at West Side United Church, Pentz. A private graveside service will be held in Mount Pleasant prior to the memorial. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to be made to any charity. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater.
