Janet MacMurchy Ferguson

Lower Rose Bay, Lunenburg County, died August 13, 2001 in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, January 7, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Stewart A. and Helen (Perry) Ferguson. She received her Bachlor of Arts from Acadia University and graduated from the Nova Scotia College of Arts and Design with a degree in Fine Art (Ceramics) and Art Education. She taught pottery classes in Halifax and Dartmouth for ten years prior to establishing Lunenburg Pottery and Traditional Craft in Lunenburg. She is survived by brother, Roderick Perry Ferguson and sister-in-law Gene-Marie MacDonald, Halifax; Aunts, Mary Warren, Oakville; Lillian Barnby, Hamilton; and a number of cousins. Cremation has taken place. Donations may be made to the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia or the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design.
