Elwood Hardy
86,
of Pleasantville, passed away June 24, 2001 at the Veteran’s Unit,
Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital Lunenburg. Born in Dublin Shore,
he was the youngest son of the late Lambert and Ella (Oxner) Hardy.
He was a member of the Merchant Marine, having served in the Second
World War. After the war, he was a self employed painter. Carman was
a charter member of the Pleasantville Fire Department. He is survived
by his sister, Dora (Mrs. Carman Creaser) of Lower LaHave; a brother
Lee of Queens Manor, Liverpool, and several nieces and nephews. He was
predeceased by his wife Miriam (Sarty) in 1995; brothers Harris, William,
Ralph, Robert, Lawrence, Burrel, and sisters Freda and Hilda. The body
is resting at Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater, where the funeral
service will be conducted on 2 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. William Gustafson
officiating. Interment in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. No visitation
by request. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the
Veteran’s Unit, of the Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital;
The Redeemer Lutheran Church, Conquerall Bank, or to the charity of
choice.
