Edna (Jackson) Kent

83, Bridgewater, passed away Sunday April 23, 2001 in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Truro, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Evelyn (Hurst) Jackson. Edna “Jackie” graduated from the School of Nursing of St. John General. She was a member of the Bridgewater United Church and active in the Women’s Group of that church. She was involved for many years with the South Shore Regional Hospital Auxiliary, the Gift Shop and the Dawson Daisy. She is survived by son George and wife Beth of Bridgewater; brother Austin and wife Geraldine of Halifax; Grandchildren, Tracy Kent-Hillis, Kingston, Ont.; Dr Amy Kent, Charlottetown, PEI; Tim, Bridgewater; and great grandsons, Eamon and Liam Hillis. She was predeceased by her husband Robert and brother Lloyd. A memorial service will be held 2pm Friday in the Bridgewater United Church, Rev. Ivan Norton officiating. Flowers for the church are welcome. Memorial donations may be made to the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater.
