80, of Middlewood, Lunenburg County, passed away May 3, 2002 in the Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Middlewood, she was a daughter of the late Wilson and Leliah (Slauenwhite) Rafuse. She is survived by 3 children, Earl “Buddy” (Alice), Middlewood; Vivian Hirtle, Hebbville; Beverley (James) Smith, Hebbville; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sisters, Gladys Slauenwhite, Riverport; Shirley (Aubrey) Wamboldt, Middlewood; Florence Wagner, Bridgewater; Marjorie (Leslie) Wile, Lower Branch; brothers, Ernest (Verlie), Camperdown; Carl (Betty), Middlewood; Myles (Ruby), Broad Cove; Fred, Middlewood; Stanley (Sharon), Middlewood; John “Jack” (Susan), Camperdown; Harold (Marie), Camperdown; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Leamon; grandson, Danny Smith; great granddaughter, Miranda Himmelman; brothers, Thomas, Charles and 3 brothers in infancy. Visitation will be held Monday from 7 to 9pm in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Memorial service will be held 2pm Tuesday in the Middlewood United Church, Rev. Karen Ohrt officiating. Burial will follow in the Middlewood United Church Cemetery. No flowers by request.
