Alphons Florand de Decker
94, of Riverport, Lunenburg County, passed away October 21, 2002 in the Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Philippine, The Netherlands, he was a son of the late Edmond and Celiena de Decker. He immigrated to Canada in 1950, resided in Wallaceburg, Ontario, before moving to Nova Scotia where he farmed in Roger’s Hill until his retirement in 1977. He then resided in Scotsburn until moving to Riverport in 1996. He is survived by daughters, Jean (Bob) Patterson, Celiena (Bob) Mosley, all of Carstairs, Alberta; Elly (Don) Harris, Ottawa; Nancy (Mike) Levy, Bridgewater; son Fred (Judy), LaHave; grandchildren, Julie, Valarie, Anita, Cindy, Eddy, Russel, Billy, Andy, Janet, Jennifer, Jonathan; great grandchildren, Kieran and Kiera; a brother, Emile; a sister, Palmeer, both of The Netherlands. He was predeceased by his wife, Jeanette W. (van Petegem); brothers, Jerome, Georges; a sister, Madeleine. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 7 to 9pm in Sweeny’s Funeral Chapel, Bridgewater. A private family service will be held with Rev. Ivan Norton officiating. A public committal service will be held Thursday at 2:30pm in the Gladestone Cemetery, Four Mile Brook, Rev.
