Gertrude Frances Leggie

86, of Wentzell’s Lake, Lunenburg County, passed away April 21, 2002 in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Dayspring, Lunenburg County, she was a daughter of the late Hiram and Hattie (Fraser) Franklin. She was a long time resident of Wentzell’s Lake. She was a member of both the Rebecca Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by 2 daughters, Sandra Bishop, Wentzell’s Lake; Linda (Warren) Meisner, Texas; 5 grandchildren, William (Susan) Bishop, Ottawa; Michelle (Ted) Pretty, Peter (Barbara) Bishop, Tom (Burnadette) Bishop, all of Kentville; Eric (Janice) Meisner, Texas; 10 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren, a brother, George (Marilla) Franklin, Pentz; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Emerson, sisters, Marion, Olive, Helen; brothers, Laurence, Harold, a sister in infancy. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 7 to 9pm with an Eastern Star Service being held at 7pm all in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Bridgewater. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater, Rev. William Gustafson officiating. Burial of ashes will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery, West Northfield.
