Carl Wilson Rafuse

81, of Middlewood, Lunenburg County, passed away September 16, 2002 in the Q E II Health Sciences Center, New Halifax Infirmary Site, Halifax. Born in Middlewood, he was a son of the late Wilson and Leliah (Slauenwhite) Rafuse. He was a veteran of the Second World War and member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24 in Bridgewater. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” (Sarty); daughter, Judy (Melburne) Sarty, Middlewood; son Steven, Middlewood; grandchildren, Willa and Jesse; sisters, Gladys Slauenwhite, Riverport; Shirley (Aubrey) Wamboldt, Middlewood; Florence Wagner, Bridgewater; Marjorie (Leslie) Wile, Lower Branch; brothers, Ernest (Verlie), Camperdown; Myles (Ruby), Broad Cove; Fred, Middlewood; Stanley (Sharon), Middlewood; John “Jack” (Susan), Camperdown; Harold (Marie), Camperdown; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by; brothers, Thomas, Charles and 3 brothers in infancy; sister, Verna Croft. Visitation will be held Thursday from 7 to 9pm in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater with a public Legion Tribute Service being held at 6:30pm  Funeral service will be held 2pm Friday in the Calvary Lutheran Church, Middlewood, Rev. Sharron Reykdal officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Lutheran Church Cemetery. Immediate family flowers by request.
