Ralph H. "Tootie" Veinot
85, of Bridgewater, passed away July 16, 2002 at Green Bay. Born in Bridgewater, he was a son of the late Walter and Hortence (Aulenback) Veinot. He was a veteran of the Second World War having served overseas with West Nova Scotia Regiment from 1940 to 1946 in the European Campaign. He was a member of Branch 24 of the Royal Canadian Legion in Bridgewater; an honorary member of the Bridgewater Fire Department and Fireman’s Band; past president of the Travellers Club and was a past employee of Saunders Motors in Hebbville having worked there for 35 years. He is survived by his wife, Doris (Mann); daughter, Pauline (Bruce) Tanner, Lunenburg; son, Dwight (Jane), Stillwater Lake, Halifax County; grandchildren, Steven (Jodie) Tanner; Roger (Wendy) Tanner; Stefanie (Darin) Johnston; Christopher and Michelle Veinot; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy (Douglas) Macklin, Lunenburg. He was predeceased by brothers, Fletcher and Walter; infant sister, Elizabeth. A memorial service will be held 11am Friday in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater, Archdeacon John Clarke officiating. No visitation or flowers by request.
