Horace Edgar Allan Norman
Of
Bridgewater, passed away May 7, 2003 in Camp Hill Veterans Memorial
Building, Halifax, following a lengthy illness. He was the son of the
late William Allan and Lilian Evelyn (Gould) Norman, born in Hampton,
N.B. on November 4, 1917. He was a veteran of Second World War, serving
overseas as Staff Sergeant with the 3rd Anti-tank Regiment in England,
France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He was employed with Maritime
Telegraph and Telephone Co. Ltd., for 33 years retiring in 1981. He
was a member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater, life member
of Telephone Pioneers, 3rd Anti-tank Regiment Association and Lunenburg
County Veterans Association. He is survived by his wife of 30 years,
Mary (Spinney), son Brian, Thailand. Grandchildren, Bruce, Angela, Cherie
(Jollimore) and Brina; great granddaughter, Erin, all of Halifax, brother
Maurice, Long Point, N.B. He was predeceased by his first wife Audrey
Gibson and son Roderick, sisters Beatrice and Ileana. Visitation 7 –
9 p.m., Sunday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral
11 a.m., Monday in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater. Archdeacon
John Clarke officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m., in St. John’s
Cemetery, Halifax. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the
Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Alzheimer's Society of Nova
Scotia, V.O.N., Lunenburg Co., branch or charity of choice. On line
