Fredie Gorman Silver

60, New Germany, Lunenburg County, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2003 while at his camp in Lake Pleasant. Born in Springfield, he was a son of the late Wesley and Florence (Wile) Silver. He was a retired Master Warrant Officer with the Royal Canadian Armed Forces, serving in both the Navy and Air Force. He was a past member of the Canadian Forces Reserves, Airfield Engineering Flight, Bridgewater. He was a member of St. John in the Wilderness Anglican Church. He was the former operator of Fred’s Irving Station, New Germany and was an avid fisherman, woodsman and outdoorsman. He was a loving and caring husband to Carolyn (Crouse) and father to Stephanie (Ron) Friedrich, Edmonton, Alb; Freddie (Nancy) Silver, Greenwood; Tina (David) Bullock, Toronto; Shawn (Kimberley) Silver, Bedford. Brother to Betty (Max) Engler, Dartmouth; Harvey (Mona) Silver, Springfield; Gordon (Terry) Silver, Roundhill. Brother in law to Donald Pernette, West LaHave. He was “Grampie” to Charles and Michelle Winegarden; Emily and Dylan Silver; Connor, Sarah and Kate Bullock; Madison and Jacob Silver. He also had numerous nieces and nephews. His sister, Elmeda Pernette and a brother in infancy both predeceased him. No visitation by request. Funeral 11 a.m., Sunday in St. John in the Wilderness Anglican Church, New Germany. Rev. Catherine Robar officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Flowers from the family only, donations may be made to St. John’s Anglican Church Hall. A reception for family and friends will follow the service in the church hall.
