Alice (Allie) Elizabeth Bennett

94, Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co., passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at her home in Halifax. Born in Glace Bay, she was a daughter of the late Lyman Samuel and Elizabeth (Copp) Jackson. She received her education in Glace Bay and graduated as a registered nurse from the Glace Bay General Hospital, Glace Bay. She married Dr. William Bennett and they settled in Bridgewater where he practiced medicine for 50 years. She was a member of the South Shore Regional Hospital Auxiliary and the Lunenburg Historical Society. Surviving are her son, Gary (Loretta) Bennett, Herman’s Island; three granddaughters, Lori Ann, Alison, Catherine Jean all of Halifax. She was predeceased by her husband Dr. William Bennett. Sisters, Isabelle and Mary; brother, Lester. No visitation at the funeral home by request. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004 in Bridgewater United Church. Rev. Ivan Norton officiating. Donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia, Bridgewater United Church, charity of choice. A private interment of ashes will take place in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater.
