Pearl Mae Haines

Of Halifax, formerly of Bridgewater, passed away Saturday June 12, 2004 at the Victoria General Transition Unit peacefully in her sleep. She was born on Big Tancook Island, December 21, 1911, the daughter of the late Ervine Amos and Jennie Pearl (Levy) Stevens. She was a member of Faith Tabernacle (PAOC), Halifax for several years. She worked for several years at the Nova Scotia Hospital as well as being a homemaker. She is survived by sons, Franklyn George (Shirley), Pugwash; Wilbert Wayne Haines (Rhoda), Bridgewater; grandsons, Timothy (Susan), Truro; Jason (Elaine), Halifax; Jeffery, Upper LaHave; granddaughters, Susan, Halifax; Stephanie (Bill) Haines-McEvoy, Ottawa; Rhonda (Byron) Haines-Richards, Bridgewater; six great grandchildren, Alexander, Joel, Jordan Haines, Truro; Hannah and Jacob Haines, Halifax; Isaac McEvoy, Ottawa; two sisters, Ester (Victor) Stevens, Boutliers Point; Lottie (Willis) Zinck, Lunenburg. She was predeceased by her husband, Franklyn Wilbert Haines; son, Donald Roy in infancy; sister, Hazel (Eric) Peterson; brothers, George, Herman and Eric. Visitation will be held Monday, June 14, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, York St., Bridgewater. Funeral service will be held 11am Tuesday, June 15, at New Life Christian Church (PAOC), 42 Elm St., Bridgewater, Rev Bob Wright of Faith Tabernacle officiating. Burial will follow in the Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. Reception following. No flowers by request. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
