Raymond Hewey
Died peacefully on May 9, 2004, in Arborstone Enhanced Care, Halifax. Born May 31, 1910, in Bridgewater to the late Vera (Lantz) Hewey (Pleasantville) and Caleb Hewey (Yarmouth). Raymond was predeceased by brothers, Stanley and John; sisters, Lena, Lillian Chandler, Madeline Burgher. He is survived by sisters, Mary Naugler (twin of John), Calgary, Alta.; twin sisters, Florence Salway, Saskatoon, Sask., and Frances Dunsworth, Hubbards. Raymond, a bachelor, is also survived by 24 nieces and nephews. His loving niece, Mary-Ann Arnold of Dartmouth, was especially caring of him during his later years and during his time in nursing homes. Raymond was multi-talented both in music and art. He was an avid talker, walker and bicyclist who enjoyed being with folks. He was a member of Bridgewater Baptist Church and in his youth sang tenor in the choir. Remains have been cremated. A graveside service will be held in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater, on Monday, May 17, at 11 a.m., Rev. Tom Harvey officiating.
