William (Bill) Bruce Kelley
(1921 - 2004)
Passed away quietly at the South Shore Regional Hospital, on February
20th, after a short illness. All of his immediate family were in attendance.
Bill was a lifelong resident of Bridgewater, with the exception of September
1939 until 1946, when he proudly served with the West Nova Scotia Regiment,
throughout the European Theatre. Shortly after his return from Europe,
he met and married his life partner, Hilda Jeanette (Nonamaker), who
survives him at the Hillside Pines in Bridgewater. Bill will be deeply
missed by his children, Peggy Weagle-Ott, (Willis), New Cumberland;
Bruce (Elizabeth), Petite Riviere / Halifax; Paul, LaHave; and grandchildren,
Jamie Weagle, Conquerall Mills; Graham Weagle, Shilo, Manitoba; Jeff
Kelley, Halifax; Kim Kelley, Toronto; Danielle Kelley, Halifax; Tristan
Kelley, Petite Riviere; Noni Kelley, LaHave. After leaving active duty,
Bill continued to serve in the West Nova Scotia Reserves for many years
and has continued as a Legion member. Bill was a member of the Bridgewater
Holy Trinity Anglican Church. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made
to the South Shore Regional Hospital, Hillside Pines, or a charitable
organization of choice. Visitation is scheduled for Monday February
23rd, from 7-9 pm, at Sweeny’s Funeral Home. Funeral services
will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church on Tuesday, February 24th,
at 2 pm, with internment in Brookside Cemetery at a later date. Online
