Joan Audrey MacKinnon

78, Bridgewater, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 14, 2004 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born and educated in Toronto, Ontario, she was the daughter of the late Eben and Jessie Jean (Weston) Quigley, and beloved step mother, Helen Mulvehill. Joan was employed by The MacLean Hunter Publishing Company, Toronto. She married her late husband, Harley MacKinnon, formerly of Brooklyn, Queen’s Co in 1953; together had two daughters, Sandi and Brenda. She will be sadly missed by her loving partner of 15 years, David Hilchie, Bridgewater; daughters, Sandi (Kendall) Bruce, Bedford; Brenda Card, Dartmouth; cherished granddaughter Racheal Card, Mahone Bay; brother Ken (Margie) Quigley, Arcadia, California. Memorial service will be 11 a.m., Saturday in Sweeny’s Funeral Chapel, Bridgewater. Rev. Vivian Moores officiating. Interment of ashes will follow in New Charleston Cemetery, Charleston, Queens Co.
