78, of Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg,
formerly of Laconia, passed away June 22, 2005 in the home. Born
in Petite Riviere, he was a son of the late Wallace C. and Dorothy S.
(Rieser) Gear of Bridgewater. He was a longtime employee of the Town
of Bridgewater and a life member of Branch 24 Royal Canadian Legion,
Bridgewater. He is survived by a brother, Thomas (Margaret) Gear, Brantford,
Ont.; sister, Edna (Hall) Weldon, Bridgewater; step-sons, Johnnie (Brenda)
Penney, Laconia; Freddie (Cheryl) Penney, Laconia; David (Donna) Penney,
Lower Branch; Reggie (Noreen) Penney, Camperdown; Laurie Penney, Italy
Cross; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret
(Zinck) (Penney) and a brother Gordon Gear. Visitation will be held
Friday from 7 to 9pm with a public legion tribute service being held
at 7pm all in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater and from where
funeral service will be held 10am Saturday. Burial will follow in the
Laconia Cemetery. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, memorial
donations may be made to Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg
