84, Bridgewater, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2005 at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Wileville, he was a son of the late Hugh A. and Mildred (Eisnor) Hirtle. He was the founder and operator of Hirtle Woodworking Business and Donald Hirtle Transport Ltd., both formerly of Blockhouse. After retiring, he was employed with Bridgewater Motors and Saunders Motors, Hebbville. He was a member of Acacia Lodge; Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24, Bridgewater and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Being an avid golfer, he was a member of the Olde Town Golf Club, Bridgewater and an honorary life member of Maritime Seniors’ Golf Association. Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Carr; sisters, Shirley Richardson, Bridgewater; Mona Diggins, New Glasgow; Audrey Harlow, Mount Uniacke; Catherine (Arlie) Wynn, New Minas; brothers, Rex (Vivian) Hirtle, First South; Vernon (Beulah), New Glasgow. He was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret (McAvoy); brothers, Douglas Hirtle, Vance Hirtle; 2 brothers, Eldon, Calvin and a sister, Elizabeth all in infancy. No visitation at the funeral home by request. Memorial service will be held 11am Friday in St Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bridgewater, Rev. Paul Jensen officiating. No flowers by request. Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, South Shore Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Bridgewater or charity of your choice.
