83,
of Bridgewater, Lunenburg County, passed away suddenly along with his
wife Jeane as a result
of a motor vehicle accident February 15, 2005. Born in Bridgewater,
he was a son of the late Wilfred and Margaret (Stoddard) Lohnes. He
was a veteran of WW2 having served with the West Nova Scotia Regiment,
a life member and a past president of Royal Canadian Legion Bridgewater
branch 24, a life member of the Lions club and a member of the West
Nova Scotia Regiment Memory Club. He was also a long time member of
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He is survived by his daughters Gail
(Archie) Garron, Sluice Point; Janice (Bob) Rafuse, East Chester; Son
Warren Gary (Karen), New Maryland N.B.; Sisters Marjorie, B.C.; Shirley,
Ontario; Jean, Betty, Margie and Jerry all of Bridgewater and Florence
of Halifax; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and several nieces
and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Harold and Carl. Visitation
will be 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm Friday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home,
Bridgewater, with a public Legion Tribute service at 7pm. Funeral services
will be held 2pm Saturday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bridgewater,
Rev. Mark Wagschal officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery,
Bridgewater. Family flowers only please, memorial donations may be made
to the Veteran’s Memorial Park Project c/o Bridgewater Legion
