Bernice Parks (nee Tays)
79, a resident of Harbour View Haven Nursing Home, Lunenburg,
formerly of Petite Riviere, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2005.
Born in Cooks Brook, she was the daughter of the late Burke and Addie
Tays of Cooks Brook. In her early years she was employed at the Royal
Bank in Shubenacadie, MTT and later worked as a long time employee in
the Payroll and Personnel Dept. at the Victoria General Hospital. She
was predeceased by her loving husband Ronald Parks and daughter Sally
Parks, infant daughter Susan; sisters Emma Horne, Hazel Moore and Vera
Baker. She is survived by brothers Bill Tays (wife Olive), Cooks Brook;
Raymond Tays (wife Helen), Dartmouth; sisters Jean Stoddard, Halifax;
and Fern Bayer Meagher’s Grant, loving nieces and nephews. Freda
was a long time member of Trinity United Church, Timberlea, volunteering
in the choir and as a life member of the UCW, and became a member of
Wesley United Church in Petite Riviere. Family flowers only. In lieu
of flowers donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Lung Association
or a charity of your choice. A
memorial service will be held on Monday, April 11, 2005 at 2:00 at Wesley
United Church in Petite Riviere, Nova Scotia with Rev. Karen Ohrt officiating.
There will be a reception following the service. Condolences may be
