Aretha Wilkie
95, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family
at Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital Feb. 12, 2005. Lillian
resided with her extended family at Harbour View Haven for almost 11
years. She was the daughter of the late Albert & Frances Hirtle.
She is survived by daughter Mona Corkum, New Cumberland; sons Arnold
(Gwen) Pleasantville; Robert (Joan), Dayspring; Gary (Bonnie), Amherst;
12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by
husband Henry; daughter Shirley (Russell) Crowell; brothers Charles,
Collin, Nelson; sisters Mary, Leda, Elizabeth and Jessie in infancy.
Lillian was a devoted mother and homemaker. She was an active member
of the United Church, the Friendship Group and UCW. She volunteered
for the Red Cross and the Dawson Daisy. She was a member of Hillside
Pines Auxiliary and South shore Regional Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed
singing in the Church choir for many years. Visitation will be Tuesday
2 to 4 pm and funeral service will be Wednesday 11 A.M. all from Sweeny’s
Funeral Home, Bridgewater, conducted by Rev. Ivan Norton. Interment
will follow at Peaceful Hill Cemetery, west Dublin. Family flowers only.
