Henry
Wallace Young
Of Branch LaHave, passed away in the Hillside Pines Nursing
Home on June 4, 2005. Born in Branch LaHave on February 27, 1911, Henry
was a son of the late Elvin and Elva (Meisner) Young and is survived
by his loving wife of 70 years, Lois (Hebb). Henry is also survived
by his children, Arthur (Betty), Branch LaHave; Caroll (Dolly), William
Hebb Road; Rex (Patsy), Greenwood; Marguerite (Jerry Cross), Wileville;
and Marjorie (Gerald Zwicker), Auburndale; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren;
and three great great-grandchildren. Henry was predeceased by his brother,
Clarence; and sister, Beulah Bolivar. Henry was an active lifelong member
of St. James Lutheran Church, Branch LaHave and attended service until
his illness confined him to home. During his working years, Henry was
employed with the Dept. of Highways, Hoffert's and Kirk's Christmas
Tree Companies and the Mersey Paper Company. Henry enjoyed the country
and farm life, especially working with oxen. He received numerous trophies
and awards for his cattle at community fairs and exhibitions around
the province. He was a lifelong member of the Maritime Ox-Pulling Association
and took an active interest in local and provincial politics. Funeral
services will be held in St. James Lutheran Church, Branch LaHave on
Tuesday, June 7 at 2:30 p.m. Visitation will be held on Monday, June
6 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Family
flowers only. Donations may be made to St. James Lutheran Church or
