Peter W. Branson
68, Pleasantville, died at home peacefully and with great dignity on
August 25, 2006. Peter was born May 20, 1938, in Bristol, England. After
finishing school, he joined a British telecommunications company, Cable
and Wireless Ltd., and spent his working life overseas as foreign service
staff until his retirement. During the course of his career, Peter worked
in Zanzibar, Kenya, Rodriques, Aden, Jamaica, Guyana, Barbados, The
Seychelles, Dubai, Hong Kong and Malaysia, first as an engineer and
in the later part of his career, in management. Peter retired to Pleasantville
in 1994 where he became an active member of Bridgewater Golf Club and
Osprey Ridge Golf Club, serving as secretary and treasurer at the latter.
Peter is survived by his wife, Marilyn (originally from Dartmouth) whom
he met and married in Jamaica in 1966; daughter, Andrea Golding (born
in Barbados, now living in New Hampshire with grandchildren, Kathleen,
Molly, Alex and Sally), and son, Eric (born in The Seychelles, now living
in London, England with a grandchild due in October). A private burial
attended by family members will take place today in Pleasantville Cemetery.
A Celebration of the Life of Peter Branson will be held on Wednesday,
August 30, in Osprey Ridge Golf Club at 7 p.m. All of Peter's friends
and acquaintances are welcome to attend. Donations in Peter's memory
may be made to the South Shore Regional Hospital, Canadian Cancer Society
(Nova Scotia Division), or Victorian Order of Nurses. E-mail condolences
