John Kenneth Gow
59, of Pleasantville, Lunenburg County, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2006 in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Bridgewater, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Winnifred (Simpson) Gow. John spent 30 years working for Nova Scotia Power, starting out as a lineman and working as a supervisor before his retirement. Retirement didn't mean slowing down, and for the past several years he was employed at Gow's Home Hardware and a member of the Pleasantville and District Fire Department, later serving as Deputy Chief. A wonderful husband, father and friend, John is known for his sense of humour and love of life. He is survived by his wife, the former Kathy Greek; daughters, Amanda (Steve) Longmoore, Amherst Head; Laura, at home; sister, Margaret (Kornelius) Neustadter, Abbotsford, BC; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 7 to 9pm in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. A memorial service will be held 11am Thursday in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater, Father Ron Appleton officiating. Private family burial will follow in the Pleasantville Cemetery, Pleasantville. No flowers by request.
