Lower Branch, Lunenburg County, died November 6, 2006 in South Shore
Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, while surrounded by his loving daughters.
He was born on November 2, 1918 in Co Antrim, Northern Ireland, and
was the son of the late John and Rachel Greer. He immigrated with his
family to Canada in April 1928 via Pier 21, settling in Mapleton, NB.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Carrie (Conrad) Greer;
daughters, Marlene, Brenda and Janice of Lower Branch; sister, Martha
Lingley, Smithtown, NB; brother, Tom, Fredericton; many extended family
members and friends. He was predeceased by brothers, John, James, Samuel,
Robert, Ralph; sisters, Jean Kennie, Mary Harrison Steeves, Polly MacFarland,
Viola Blades; a brother and sister in infancy; in-laws Barney and Millie
Conrad. Prior to retirement, he was an employee of 35 years with Acadia
Gas Engines, ABCO. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Sweeny’s
Funeral Home, York Street, Bridgewater, where funeral will be 1 p.m.
Thursday. Mr. William Bryant and Gordon Hazelwood officiating. Interment
will be at Hillside Cemetery, Branch LaHave. Reception will follow at
Branch LaHave Community Hall. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations
may be made to South Shore Regional Hospital, Hillside Cemetery c/o
