Anita Catherine Ramey
Passed away peacefully at Windsor Elms in Windsor, on October 15, 2006. Born May 5, 1916 in Crousetown, Lunenburg County, she had spent most of her life living and working in her community. She loved her family, her community, and her church and spent hours working on projects related to these interests. She was a member of Royal Canadian Legion branch 24 Women's Auxiliary and St. Andrews United Church, where for years she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. She was widely known and loved by many for her spirited conversation and lively sense of humor. She was an avid card player and one of the best doughnut makers in Atlantic Canada. She was predeceased by her husband William Roy Ramey, brother, George Bollivar, and parents Gaius and Eleanor (Joudrey) Bollivar. She is survived by daughter, Patsy (Grant) Johnston, Ottawa; son Gary (Deborah) Ramey, Hebbville; grandchildren, Tara-Lynn (Mark) Hughes, Oakville, Ont; Tyler Johnston, Toronto; Stefan Ramey, Halifax; James Ramey, Hebbville; great grandchildren, Logan and Alexa Hughes, Oakville. The family wishes to thank the staff of the South Shore Regional Hospital and of Windsor Elms Nursing Home for the care and treatment they provided to this special lady during the past few years. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Sweeny's Funeral Home, York Street, Bridgewater, followed by cremation. Memorial service, 2 p.m. Thursday in Wesley United Church, Petite Riviere. Rev. Karen Ohrt officiating. Interment in Crousetown Community Cemetery, Crousetown.
