Scarsdale, Lunenburg County, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2006 in
Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany, where he had been residing.
Born in Scarsdale, he was a son of the late Bertram and Minnie (Dorey)
Spidle. He was a member of Parkdale Maplewood Emmanuel United Baptist
Church, Parkdale, where he served as a deacon and a choir member. He
was a member of IOOF Maple Lodge, Parkdale. He was the last surviving
member of his immediate family. Surviving are his son, Curtis (Patsy),
New Germany. Grandchildren, Jonathan, Jessica; Michael, Michelle; three
great grandchildren; brother in law, Leroy Webber; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Marguerite Grimm; sons, Gary
and one in infancy; sisters, Evelyn Taylor, Laura Webber; brother, Doran.
Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895
route 10, New Germany, with an IOOF memorial tribute at 6:45 p.m. Funeral
service 11 a.m. Thursday in Parkdale Maplewood Emmanuel United Baptist
Church, Parkdale. Rev. Jennifer Joudrey officiating. Burial to follow
in Parkdale Community Cemetery, Parkdale. In lieu of flowers, donations
may be made to Rosedale Home for Special Care, Parkdale Maplewood Emmanuel
United Baptist Church, Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice.
