Brandon Andrew Russell
13,
Pinehurst, Lunenburg County, passed away, Sunday, January 28, 2007 in
the IWK Children’s Hospital, Halifax after a long but courageous
battle with cancer. Born in Bridgewater, he was a son of Andrew and
Kelly (Veinot) Russell. He was a grade 8 student of New Germany Rural
High School, where he participated in the school band as a drummer and
many aspects of school sports, including, basketball and badminton;
he was a member of the Bridgewater Uechi-ryu karate club and member
of the Bridgewater Minor Baseball league. Surviving are his parents,
Andrew and Kelly; sister, Kayla, at home; grandparents, Nelson and Velma
(Ramey) Veinot; Max and Gladys (Gallion) Russell, all of New Germany;
great grandmother, Elsie (Tipert) Veinot, New Germany; godparents, Cheryl
and Larry MacKay, Union Square; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by great grandparents, Randolph Veinot, Warren and
Marion (Nichols) Ramey, Karl and Vera (Woodworth) Russell. No visitation
at the funeral home by request. Service of Celebration for the life
of Brandon will be 2 p.m. Friday, in the gymnasium of New Germany Rural
High School. Rev. Joan Conrad officiating. Interment in Barss Corner
Community Cemetery, Barss Corner. Family flowers only, donations may
be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation, VON Lunenburg County
branch or IWK Pediatric Palliative Care Service. Funeral arrangements
