Hedwidge Mary "Hedi" Smith
87, of Hebbville, Lunenburg County passed away December 25, 2007 in Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg. Born in West Bathurst, NB, she was the daughter of the late Maxime and Delphina (Boudreau) Arsenault. She worked for many years at the Met Department Store and the Peoples Department Store Service desk. She was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24 Ladies Auxiliary and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hebbville Fire Department. Her hobbies included crossword puzzles, bowling twice a week, playing cards with the grandchildren and friends, collecting Elvis paraphernalia. She also enjoyed many socials to get dressed and put her make-up on. She loved to talk, socialize and enjoy people. Hedi will be remembered for being kind-hearted, good natured. She loved all her children, grand-children, great grand-children, and many wonderful friends who made her life so rewarding and enjoyable. She will be greatly missed by all who know and loved her. She is survived by her sons Lawrence (Mary), PEI; Robert, Fancy Lake; Paul (Peggy) Stanburne; Phillip (Joan), Toronto; Stepson David (Pauline), New Glasglow; She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 9 great grand-children. She was predeceased by her husband, Earl; daughter Barbara and a daughter in infancy. Visitation will be held Friday from 7 to 9pm in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral service will be held 11am Saturday in the Bridgewater United Church, Rev Ivan Norton officiating. Private family burial will follow in the Hebbville Cemetery. Family flowers only.
