Catherine Louise "Kay" Ritcey
80,
Pleasantville, passed away quietly, July 30, 2008 in South Shore Regional
Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Bridgewater, she was the daughter of
the late Norton and Florence (Hirtle) Corkum. Catherine’s greatest
joy was her family and friends. She enjoyed her bridge group of over
35 years and was a long time volunteer with South Shore Regional Hospital
and Daisy, where she shared her love of books. Catherine traveled to
many countries over her lifetime and always looked forward to the experience
and thrill of new cultures. She is survived by her son, Michael (Sharon)
Ritcey, Pleasantville; daughter, Mary (John) Chappell, Halifax; grandchildren,
Lorianne (Troy) White, Fall River; Jeff (Melissa) Ritcey, Lower LaHave;
Jennifer Chappell (Steve), Dartmouth; Mark Chappell (Jill), Halifax;
six great grandchildren. Catherine is predeceased by her husband, Ross
and brother, Charles Corkum. Visitation 7 – 9 p.m. Monday in Sweeny’s
Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday in Trinity
United Church, Rose Bay. Rev. Ron Frampton officiating. Private family
interment will follow in Shepherd’s Hill Cemetery, Riverport.
