James Herbert Hawley Williams
90,
of Mahone Bay, passed away peacefully on January 27th, 2008, at the
South Shore Regional Hospital in Bridgewater. Born in Holywell, North
Wales, James was the son of the late Dr. Herbert Williams and Elizabeth
(Hawley) Williams. He served for over 10 years with the Royal Hampshire
Regiment in the British Army throughout WWII and attained the rank of
Lieutenant Major. Following the war, he began a career in the brewing
industry which took him all over Great Britain although he mostly called
the Isle of Wight home. In 1973, James's wife, Cecilia (Mary) Charnley
of Montreal, passed away and James emigrated to Canada with their two
children Debbie and Stuart. They lived briefly in Montreal but then
settled in London, Ontario. James spent the last five years of his life
by the sea in Nova Scotia where he enjoyed his favourite hobby: gardening,
and the occasional pint. James was also predeceased by his sister Jean.
He is survived by his daughter Debbie Williams of Rothwell Northants
UK and his son Stuart (Christina Lamey) of Hubbards, NS. He has three
granddaughters: Nicola Whitley of Liverpool, NS; Erica Williams of Rothwell
Northants UK and Madelyn Williams of Hubbards, NS. No Flowers by request
and memorial donations may be made to the charity of choice. Online

and internment will be held at Quainton, Buckinghamshire, UK at a later
date.
