Emily Ruth Johnson
90, Lunenburg, passed away peacefully November 5, 2009, at Harbour View Haven, Lunenburg. Born in Havelock, NB, she was the daughter of the late Rev. William and Caroline Johnson. A WWII veteran, Ruth, served with the RCAF during the war. Her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life and they will fondly remember all the wonderful camping trips and days spent at the beach with “Grammy”. Ruth was active for many years at Bridgewater Baptist Church, Woodbine Rebecca Lodge and previously at Birch Cove Baptist Church in Halifax. She is survived by sons, Tom (Marlene), Shad Bay; Richard, Chester; Keith (Rita), Chester; Andrew, Abbotsford, BC; David (Denise), Mt. Uniacke; daughter, Nancy (Robert) Dekelver, Ottawa; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Arthur, a brother, Gerard and sisters Enid and Joyce. A memorial service will be held at Bridgewater Baptist Church at 2 pm on Wed. November 11. The family is deeply grateful to the staff of Harbour View Haven for their wonderful, compassionate care for Ruth. No visitation or flowers by request.
