Shirley "Venita" Brenton (Connell)

 

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Venita Brenton, announce her passing on Friday, September 24, 2010, at North Queens Nursing Home, Caledonia. Born in Saint John New Brunswick, she was a daughter of the late James and Edith (Lissemorre) Connell. Venita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and a devoted “Nanny” to her beloved dog Emily. Venita is survived by her son Barrie (Karen) and daughter Venita-Lynn (Guy), both of Bridgewater, granddaughter Claudia (Jamie) of Bridgewater, grandson Douglas, University of Toronto, and step-grandson Nigel, of Bridgewater; brothers, James (Jean) and Carl, both of Saint John. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Gerry, sister, Nancy, and son James in infancy. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 27 from 7-9pm, at Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday September 28 at 10:30 from Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater, Rev. Ron Appleton officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery. Family flowers only, memorial donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Kidney Foundation, Holy Trinity Anglican Church, or SHAID Tree Animal Shelter.
