Wayne Lemuel Creaser
66,
of Maplewood, lost his 2 year battle with cancer on April 26, 2010. Born
in Rose Bay, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late James Irving and
Minerva Catherine (Mossman) Creaser. Wayne attended Centre High School
and graduated from the Canadian Institute of Management at Saint Mary’s
University. He was employed with L.E. Shaw Ltd., and for over 25 years
with the Bank of Montreal before retirement. Wayne’s love of music started
early, with his singing in choirs during childhood, with church and community
choirs in his later years, and most recently with the Emmanuel Baptist
Church Choir of Parkdale/ Maplewood and the New Germany Men’s Choir. Loved
by his friends and family, Wayne was generous with his time and his humour,
combining his loves of technology and community to help others with technical
challenges when needed. It was not unusual for him to visit a friend to
assist in resolving a computer problem, or talk for hours on the phone
to help them through a technical issue. His home, the quiet peace of the
lake, music, and his friends and family were Wayne’s joys, and he will
be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife Shirley Anne (Thompson),
daughters Catherine Lillian and Angela Elizabeth, both from Halifax, and
his brothers Walter and Vernon, and their families. There will be no visitation.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Emmanuel Baptist
Church of Parkdale/ Maplewood. Rev. Jennifer Joudrey officiating. A reception
at the Parkdale/ Maplewood Community Hall will follow the service. In
lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Emmanuel Baptist Church
or charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral
Home, New Germany, where on-line condolences may be made by visiting www.sweenysfuneralhome.com.
