Nancy Lee Giles

Bridgewater, passed away peacefully at home on February 6th 2010, after
a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Halifax she was the youngest
daughter of the late William “Bill” and Lillian “Lil” Gudgel, Deep Brook.
She is survived by her high school sweetheart and soul mate, Fred Giles;
Sons Chad (Jill) Oromocto; Nick (Nicole), Bridgewater and was the loving
grandmother to Xavier. She is survived by her Sister Shirley (Jim) Hall
of Halifax, her nieces; Lisa, Julie, and Nephews; Bob, Steve and Gary.
She is predeceased by daughter, Kristie. Her home was a place where family
and friends gathered in celebration and a few songs on the guitar. Nancy
was an active supporter of the South Shore Canadian Tire Mustangs prior
to her illness and her home was “Mustang Central” for many years. She
loved to travel, cross stitch, paint and also had a keen eye for beautiful
scenery. Nancy will be sadly missed by family, friends and the many people
whose lives she touched. The family would like to thank the nurses and
doctors at the Dixon Centre in Halifax as well as the nurses and doctors
at South Shore Regional Hospital for their tireless efforts to ensure
Nancy was comfortable. Their care and compassion will always be treasured.
Visitation will be held 7:00 to 9:00 P.M., Monday February 8, 2010 in
Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater, from where a memorial service will
be held 1:30 P.M. Tuesday February 9, 2010, Rev Ivan Norton officiating.
Burial will follow in the Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. Family flowers
