Paul Duncan Hebb
79,
of Bridgewater passed away peacefully at home on October 16, 2010. Born
May 15, 1931 in Bridgewater, he was the son of the late Fred and Freda
Hebb. He is survived by his four children: Beverley Hebb, Bridgewater;
Sharon Hebb (Geoffrey Barnes) Halifax; Jeffrey Hebb (Allegra) California;
Catherine (Phil) Wall, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Gavin and Simon Barnes;
and Manaia Wall. He is also survived by siblings Isabel Ernst, Blockhouse;
Maizie DeMone, Fall River; Keith Hebb, Bridgewater; Shirley Crouse, Ontario;
Barbara (Alan) Adams, Dartmouth; many nieces and nephews; and his furry
companion, Jasper. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Virginia, and
siblings Mildred Webb, Robert, Henry, Gordon, Audrey LeBlanc, and Philip.
Paul was a great all-round athlete, playing championship hockey, baseball,
and golf in both high school and adult leagues. He played against the
New York Rangers, scoring one of Bridgewater’s two goals against Chuck
Rayner, who is now in the Hockey Hall of Fame. Paul was employed at Crouse
and Choat for over 50 years. He was a lover of nature, animals and children.
Paul was known as a kind and gentle man with a witty, wry sense of humour.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will
be Thursday, October 21, 7-9 p.m., at Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater.
Funeral service will be Friday, October 22 at 2 p.m. also at Sweeny’s
Funeral Home, Rev Willis Ott officiaiting. Family flowers only. Private
family interment at Brookside Cemetery. Reception will follow at St. Paul’s
Lutheran Church. Donations in memory of Paul may be made to S.H.A.I.D.
