Pearl Alice Copeland-Langille 1917 ~ 2010
It
is with great sadness that the family of Pearl Alice Copeland-Langille,
lately of Riverview (Monarch Hall), formerly of Bridgewater, NS, wishes
to announce her passing. Born to Cynthia and Maynard Mailman in West Northfield,
NS, Apr. 4, 1917, she died following a brief illness at the Moncton City
Hospital on the evening of Dec. 21, 2010. Pearl was a woman of many interests.
She was a 60 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion and proudly wore
her legion uniform every Remembrance Day and at every legion function
she attended. Active in the Girl Guide movement for many years, she eventually
served as commissioner of Guides for Lunenburg County. She was a founding
board member of Hillside Pines nursing home in Bridgewater where her mother
became one of the first residents and continued to volunteer at the Pines
for many years. She was active in her church, St. Paul’s Lutheran, as
a member of the auxiliary, and was always involved in her community. Pearl
lived a full and active life and never shrunk from any adversity or challenge.
Pearl was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was
always there for others. Her passion was her family. She was always available
with a shoulder to cry on or to celebrate the accomplishments of her family
members. Pearl was predeceased by her mother and father, her brothers
Rex and Laurie and sister Helen, her first husband George Copeland, her
second husband Carl Walther, her third husband Raymond Langille, her step-daughter
Debbie Langille, her beloved daughter Linda, as well as many close relatives
and dear friends. Pearl leaves behind her sons Michael (Carol) Riverview,
Richard (Laura) Moncton, Jim (Louise) Wolfville, her stepson Dennis (Beth)
Kentville, brother, Everett Mailman (Lou) and sister Lillian Sellors,
as well as 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She will be sadly
missed. Visitation will be at Cobb’s Funeral Home, Riverview, NB, Mon.
