Holly Sweeny, Funeral Director

Following in his father’s footsteps, at an early age, Patrick began working with his grandmother and father in the family business. Patrick obtained his embalmer’s license in 1984 and his funeral director’s license in 1986. Patrick is married to Holly (Zwicker) Sweeny, who also has her funeral director’s license and is employed at South Shore Crematorium and Transfer Service in administration. Together, Patrick and Holly have a daughter Amanda and son Jeremy. Patrick continued to work along-side his father, Charles Sweeny, until the time of his death in 2007, where Patrick has since continued the ownership and operation of C. F. Sweeny’s Funeral Homes, Bridgewater and New Germany. Patrick is an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion, branch 24 and member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater.


Jill Crouse, Accounts

Jill has been working in the family business for many years. She was first employed in administration with the ambulance division for several years and then decided to pursue other business aspirations. In 2002, Jill returned to Sweeny’s Funeral Home in a reception / administration role, working with her father Charles and brother Patrick. Jill is married to Scott Crouse and they have a son Caleb.




Ken George, Funeral Director

Ken was born in Toronto; he joined the Canadian Armed Forces after High School. After his military career as an Electronics Technician he became a paramedic in New Brunswick and joined Sweeny's Ambulance Service in 1991. Ken moved over to the Funeral Home in 1998 and received his Funeral Director license in 1999. Ken is very active in his community serving as a commissioner on the Town Cemetery Commission, he has also served on his parish council and committees in his church and has served as a volunteer Fireman in the town of Bridgewater. Ken is presently the President of Bridgewater Branch No. 24 of the Royal Canadian Legion. He is married and has 5 children and 4 grandchildren.



Wayne Fisher, Funeral Director / Embalmer

Growing up between Halifax and Cape Breton Wayne started his Funeral Services career at Mattatall’s Funeral Home in Dartmouth & Cruikshank’s Halifax Funeral Home as a licensed embalmer and funeral director, where he worked for 13 years. He moved to Bridgewater in 1996 to join CF. Sweeny’s Funeral Home and during this time on the South Shore Wayne also worked for the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Office for six years out of the South Shore Regional Hospital as Pathology assistant aiding in the performing of postmortem examinations with the local Pathologist. He is a member of the Bridgewater Branch No. 24 of the Royal Canadian Legion and is also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Bridgewater. Wayne is married with two children and two grandchildren.



Craig Sinclair, Funeral Director / Embalmer

Craig is a licensed embalmer and funeral director with Sweeny’s Funeral Homes, since 1999. He was a graduate of the Kingstec Funeral Services program (1994). Craig is an avid golfer and curler, is a volunteer firefighter with the Bridgewater Fire Department and also volunteers his time with Habitat for Humanity – South Shore Chapter.


Adam Tipert, Funeral Director / Embalmer

Adam is a graduate of the Funeral Services and Applied Sciences Program, Kingstec Community College, Kentville (1991). He is a native of New Germany, and has been the Directing Manager of this branch office since its creation in 1991, which was formerly the New Germany Funeral Home. In August of 2002, this location was purchased by C.F. Sweeny Funeral Home, Bridgewater, where he is continuing his career as a Funeral Director and Embalmer in both the Bridgewater and New Germany locations. Adam continues to be involved in many community groups and organizations, including St. John’s Anglican Church, where he is a Lay-minister and organist, Hillcrest Masonic Lodge and volunteers on the Crisis Intervention Team of the local high school.

 

Janet Tipert, Office Assistant

Janet has been employed at the New Germany branch office, since 1994; assisting with visitation, greeting families and answering questions at the 'receiving desk' with a familiar face from the community of New Germany, from which she has been a resident for many years. Janet is active within her community, serving on many and various groups and organizations, especially her church as a lay-minister and secretary of Parish Council and works as a volunteer with Victim Services through the local polices services. Janet is the wife of Gary and together, they have two children and two grandchildren.
