Obituary of Lowell Milford Frank

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving father, Lowell Milford Frank Sr., of Parkdale, Lunenburg Co., on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, in the Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany, where he had been residing.  Born October 28, 1944, in New Germany, he was a son of the late Carl Clair and Doris Daphne (Collicutt) Frank.

During Lowell’s working years, he was employed in many different capacities. As a young man, he started working in the woods and driving gravel truck. Lowell then went on to work for Glenn and Melba Sarty of Bridgewater, which included work as a school bus driver for the former Lunenburg County Vocational School, driving feed truck for Shur-Gain, and where he became a mechanic for both trucks and buses. Lowell finished his employment with the Sarty’s in the early 1980’s and led him to build his own garage on his property in Parkdale where he became a self-employed mechanic for 35 more years, until his retirement.

Lowell enjoyed quality time with family and friends and the most memorable times always included food and conversation. He liked going for evening drives around Parkdale and the local communities as well as attending cattle sales with his brother, Milford. He also found great enjoyment attending the local community fairs; but his happiest moments in life were spent in his garage, helping people and repairing vehicles.

Survived by his four children, Lesa Frank, Digby; Lowell Jr., Lower Branch; Laurie Frank, Nineveh; Lyndon, Parkdale; two grandchildren, James and Colby; sisters, Caroline (Alfred) Zwicker, Timberlea; Melba MacDonald, Parkdale; Linda Snell, Moncton; Brenda (Max) Zwicker, New Cornwall; brother, Milford (Alice) Frank, Parkdale; sister-in-law, Cheryll Frank, Sarnia, Ont.; many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Sheldon; two brothers-in-law, Wayne MacDonald and Eric Snell.
Special thanks to the Rosedale Home for Special Care, Ryan Hall Nursing Home, Lunenburg County Home Support, VON - Lunenburg County branch and South Shore Palliative Care Services; also to everyone who brought food or visited with Dad and helped out in any way; special thanks to Kenny Varner and Daryl Fauchon.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home by request. A private family graveside service will be held in the Parkdale-Maplewood Community Cemetery, Parkdale with Rev. Sam Jess officiating.
