ZWICKER, James Edward (Captain) – Age 46, of Simpsons Corner, Lunenburg Co., passed away with his family by his side on Monday, March 11, 2024, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Bridgewater, he was a son of Yvonne Lee (Turner) Zwicker, Simpsons Corner and the late Clyde Bernard Zwicker.

James was a former employee of DeLong’s Farms, Barss Corner and then went on to work for Michael Rafuse Construction. James was a dedicated member of the Hemford and District Fire Department for 21 years, where he was currently serving as a Captain for 8 years. James had a passion for the fire service and always considered the members as his second family. He was a member of Mike Wilson's softball team and then the Barss Corner Blues Ball Team for several years. One of James’s hobbies was hunting always trying to get the bigger one out of the neighbours.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his brother, Stephen, Simpsons Corner, along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. James will be missed dearly by all who loved him and knew him.

The family would like to thank the paramedics, staff of South Shore Regional Hospital, the VON and palliative care teams, Jennifer Riis NP, the New Germany & Area Medical Centre and to everyone who has brought so many kind gestures to our home; as well as, special thank you to Tammy Mackay-Ramey, Lee-Anne Hunter and Katrina and Joe Gallant for their love and care throughout this journey and to Michael Saulnier for all of his help over the years.
